What I Ate: Fried calamari & beef souvlaki platter
I had eaten here once before and was anxious to try it out again because this is rated as one of the most gluten-free friendly restaurants in Ottawa. The owner’s daughter has Celiac disease (same as myself), and as a result, nearly everything on the menu either was or could be made gluten-free. While the ambience wasn’t the greatest (it was a hole in the wall), the food and service more than made up for it. I ordered the fried calamari and the beef souvlaki platter, which came with rice, potatoes, and salad. The food was served fairly quickly. I ordered the beef medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection. The calamari was also perfectly breaded, which is great since gluten-free calamari isn’t so easy to find. Overall, everything tasted great and the portion sizes were very generous. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any celiac!
